Book Review:

Nemesis is a book that I have been seeing a lot around when it was first released which made me quite excited to read it, although it did not necessarily reach my expectations. Nemesis is a good sci-fi novel that gets convoluted at times.

The premise of the book is vague which made the first part of the book interesting to me as I was trying to find out what was going on in the novel. I also really liked Min as a character and often found her back story quite interesting especially with Tack and I also loved their relationship.

But then we are introduced to Noah's narrative like a third of the way through the story which was fine and I can understand why it was done for the story but I just didn't feel like the two narratives were separate. Often at times, I would find myself looking for hints at whose narrative was whose and I just felt like Noah was there to create a love triangle situation between the characters which I also did not like.

The plot was also interesting so as I previously mentioned I was sucked into this world as really wanted to find out what was going on and this continued the last page but it got weird. It was basically the first two parts are fine plot wise and it was fine and interesting to find out what was happening with both individual characters. But then from the third part, it got crazy and just went crazy and almost Maze Runner like which I did not like because The Maze Runner series is one of my favourite series so it was quite weird to see it repeated. The plot reveals did just take it to the next level and it was just strange.

Saying all of this, I am really interested in the second book in the series just to see how weird it does get.

The Verdict:

Nemesis is a strange sci-fi novel but is worth a read if you want to go along for the crazy ride.
