A-Z of UKYA LGBTQIA Books

So as some of you may know back in January I did a blog post which gave an A-Z of YA Mental Health Books and considering that this month is when London Gay Pride takes place and due to recent events I thought I would do an A-Z of UKYA LGBTQIA books so that you can get some recommendations. In the future, I will probably do the second part due to the amount of recommendations that I have. So let's get started...

 All of The Above by Juno Dawson- features asexual, bisexual, lesbian and gay characters. These are normalised in the text and this is not a coming out story.

More Than This by Patrick Ness- features a gay character and explores issues of being gay.
Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman- tells the story of Nick and Charlie who are in a relationship.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman- Features LGBTQ+ aspects
Remix by Non Pratt- features a gay couple although not part of the main plot
MasQuerade by Laura Lam- an uncoming release that will feature an intersex character
Read Me Like A Book by Liz Kessler- features a queer, lesbian character and relationship
Solitaire by Alice Oseman- features the relationship of Nick and Charlie although this is not the main story line
The Accident Season by Moira Fowley Doyle- features LGBTQ+ aspects
Undone by Cat Clarke- features the main character follows falls in love with her gay best friend
LoVe Hurts edited by Marolie Blackman- features LGBTQ+ stories
The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson- tells the story of a transgender teenager
The NeXt Together by Lauren James- Features a character who has lesbian grandparents 
Starring KittY by Keris Stainton- has a lesbian character in the novel also has queer elements
Out There: An Anthology of Scottish LGBT writing by Zoe Stracham

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. The more I am exposed to more books, the more I get to read books that I connect to Some of the books that I have picked up have really surprised me because of how much I ended up enjoying them. Popsugar Reading Challenge 2021 Wrap Up

Every year since 2015, I have had the Popsugar Reading Challenge to diversify my reading. Over the course of the last year, I would like to think that I have done this and looking at did a good job considering I have been so busy over the last year.
