About

About Amy Hello, I'm Amy, an aspiring motorsports writer and former blogger.  If you dig deeper enough, you find some very old blog posts, as this started as a book blog, but that's really where I got my start in writing: book reviews, hot book topics and as well as the odd personal essay.  After leaving university, I left the book blog behind, but continued writing and going in the world of social media, writing film reviews and promoting queer cinema, but after a tragic event in my personal life, I quickly discovered Motorsports.  What started as a love for Formula 1, while finally watching the Formula 1 film, Rush, and discovering Formula 1 TikTok, this love soon expanded to everything Formula E, IndyCar, Formula 2, Formula 3, as well as F1 Academy.  I soon found the itch to write come back, with the fast-moving news of motorsport, to the drama, the competition, and the journey of drivers trying to find a race seat. I found that it was the people and storie...

Where I Have Been/Life Update Post

So before I get started I am going to spilt this post into two parts:

1. Where I Have Been
and
2. A Little Life Update

So let's get started...

1. Where I Have Been

So been over a month- more like two months- since my last blog post. So where did you go, that's probably a common question you are asking right now. Well life happened again, like it always did and by life I mean my laptop hard-drive was completely broken and I waited about a month just to get it back again. So now you see why there have been no blog posts. Not because I hated blogging... Far from it actually as I have a lot of post ideas and I can't wait to get back into the swing of things. But...

2. A Little Life Update

It's been weird how much can life can change in two months but it can. I am no longer at home, I am at University, in my room on my new laptop with a very small bookshelf. So for those of you who are wondering I am currently studying in the Mordern History in a Universirty in the south-east of England and although the first week was very scary, I am really enjoying and the people I am living with are quite nice. This does mean that posts may be quite irregular especially during exam season but still, I get to post again.

There are more posts on the way!

See you soon (I mean it this time)

Amy

Book Review: The Extraordinaries by T J Klune

  * I am reviewing this book which I was gifted for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. * Title: The Extraordinaries Author: T J Klune Publisher: Hodder/ Hodderscape Source: From Netgalley ( Bookshop UK |  Hive |  Goodreads  |  Storygraph ) Book Summary: I n Nova City, there are extraordinary people, capable of feats that defy the imagination. Shadow Star protects the city and manipulates darkness, and Pyro Storm is determined to bring the city to its knees using his power over fire. And then there's Nick who . . . well, being the most popular fanfiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? Instead of fighting crime, Nick contends with a new year at school, a father who doesn't trust him, and a best friend named Seth, who may or may not be the love of Nick's short, uneventful life. It should be enough. But after a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City's mightiest hero (and Nick's bigge...
