  About Amy Hello, I'm Amy, an aspiring motorsports writer and former blogger.  If you dig deeper enough, you find some very old blog posts, as this started as a book blog, but that's really where I got my start in writing: book reviews, hot book topics and as well as the odd personal essay.  After leaving university, I left the book blog behind, but continued writing and going in the world of social media, writing film reviews and promoting queer cinema, but after a tragic event in my personal life, I quickly discovered Motorsports.  What started as a love for Formula 1, while finally watching the Formula 1 film, Rush, and discovering Formula 1 TikTok, this love soon expanded to everything Formula E, IndyCar, Formula 2, Formula 3, as well as F1 Academy.  I soon found the itch to write come back, with the fast-moving news of motorsport, to the drama, the competition, and the journey of drivers trying to find a race seat. Top 5 Wednesday: Tropes I Hate

5. Starcrossed lovers

 Twilight (Twilight, #1)This is a very cliched thing in paranormal romance which I have stopped reading. It was just all the same, the paranormal romance formula was: ordinary girl falls in love with (insert mystical character here) but they can't be together and although twists they work out their relationship. There are only a few times to read this trope before it becomes boring...






4. Ordinary Girl or Boy can save the world

 The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)Although all teenagers at one point or another want to think that we are capable of saving the world, this is not the case. I feel like this is a very overused trope especially in dystopian fiction and in reality a whole team is need to over throw a governmen or save the world. I mean look at the Avengers ...








3. Manic Pixie Dream Girl/Boy 

 Paper TownsThe manic pixie dream girl/boy trope is one that is featured quite heavily in films but is one that follows into books as well especially in Paper Towns in which Margo is the MPDG as she is the one that saves Q from his brooding teenage years and is the one who is idealised by him from the start of the novel. The reason I dislike this is the fact that there is almost an unequal balance between the two characters and that one of the characters is on a pedal stall . 






2. Instant love 

 Everything, EverythingThis is one of those tropes that I can't stand. This may be because I don't believe that love at first sight is real as instant love is just based on appearance and I believe that to feel in love you must have a connection personality wise so instant love is just... NO!

Writers Block

With blogging and writing, I am normally quite good with coming up with ideas to talk about, but recently this has not been the case. I keep thinking that I am through and worst of it but at the same time it seems like I have only go on a week to week basis. The reviews are always coming but in the wake of doing weekly content for the majority of the year so far, the inspiration pool has become dry. Although I have ideas for stories and creative writing, with my blog content, I always want to talk about something that I care about. Wreck This Journal #1

Since the summer I have had a Wreck This Journal after Penguin Platform introduced the "#wreckthissummer" competition. This allowed me to explore the activities in the Wreck This Journal and I found out that I really liked doing it. After the summer, I neglected the jo urnal but in the last couple of weeks I found that I have definitely been more excited to complete it. I thought that because I liked doing it that I would update my progress of the journal although it is a work in progress.
