New Year Resolutions 2018

So as I am writing this it is the 1st January which means that it is time for New Years Resolutions. Let's get started
1. Continue to Learn French/German
This is something that I did in my first year of university and would love to continue to do. I would like to do this at least 3 or 4 times a week so...

2. Take better care of myself
For this one I would like to just eat better, exercise more and drink more water but also give myself self-care when I need it.

3. Read as much as possible and read more diversely
This one is kind of self-explanatory but I would like to read as much as possible reading something at least once a day. I would like to read diverse books but also to read more classics and adult books.

4. Review books after I read them don't wait months to do so
Again quite explanatory but I would like to write reviews at least two days after I read them and not leave them for months or even a year to review them better.

5. Write more
I have a current Work In Progress that I would like to finish this year but I would also love to write something every day, whether this is something for my degree, for this blog or creative writing I would love to do this!

6. Watch 100 Films
I did this in 2017 and would love to do this again!

7. Finish my Wreck This Journal
I have had this on the go for almost three years now and I didn't do anything this year so I would now like to change this.

8. Tweet more and interact with fellow bloggers
This is quite self-explanatory again but I don't really tweet that much and would love to and therefore I would also love to read more blogs and put myself out there more.

9. Finish or work towards finishing my WIP
This is a pipe dream but I can hope but I will hopefully do NaNoWriMo twice this year which should help.

10. Upload and update my blog
I would like to add a review section to my blog and update the book reviews sections on my blog. I would also love to cross-post all my reviews to Amazon and Goodreads. I feel like this would take at least a day but I want to do it!

11. Be up-to-date with book reviews
I have some books that I have to review for ages and would love all the reviews to be out and to be on top of them all. This is a hopeful one but I can dream.

Do you have any resolutions if so what are they?

See you soon,

Amy

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. The more I am exposed to more books, the more I get to read books that I connect to Some of the books that I have picked up have really surprised me because of how much I ended up enjoying them. I think as I grow older, I am looking for different stories, different experiences and different perspectives. These don't just fit the YA mould. I also have been really into different genres like horror and the occasional thriller which have not read from before and I'm interes

Book Review: The Great Godden by Meg Rossoff

   * I am reviewing this book which I was gifted for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. * Title: The Great Godden  Author: Meg Rossoff Publisher: Bloomsbury  Source: NetGalley ( Bookshop UK |  Hive |  Goodreads  |  Storygraph ) Book Summary: Everyone talks about falling in love like it’s the most miraculous, life-changing thing in the world. Something happens, they say, and you know … That’s what happened when I met Kit Godden. I looked into his eyes and I knew. Only everyone else knew too. Everyone else felt exactly the same way. This is the story of one family, one dreamy summer – the summer when everything changes. In a holiday house by the sea, our watchful narrator sees everything, including many things they shouldn’t, as their brother and sisters, parents and older cousins fill hot days with wine and games and planning a wedding. Enter two brothers – irresistible, charming, languidly sexy Kit and surly, silent Hugo. Suddenly there’s

Popsugar Reading Challenge 2021 Wrap Up

Every year since 2015, I have had the Popsugar Reading Challenge to diversify my reading. Over the course of the last year, I would like to think that I have done this and looking at did a good job considering I have been so busy over the last year. Even though I did actually have a plan of a book to read for almost all of the prompts, I did just wing it for the latter half of the year. This was because I was just reading what I wanted to and because I was not really reading at all.  So let's see what I read this year... A book that’s published in 2021    Book I Want To Read: Gut Feelings by C. G. Moore Book I Actually Read: Gut Feelings by C.G. Moore An Afrofuturist book Book I Want To Read: The City We Became by N. K. Jemisin  Book I Actually Read:  The City We Became by N.K.
