Top 5 Wednesday: Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Series

It’s Wednesday so that means that it’s Top 5 Wednesday and this week’s
topic is side characters that deserve their own series.  To find more about Top 5 Wednesday’s you can join the goodreads group and discover the creator of the group Lainey. So let’s get started…

Number 5: Patrick from The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

The Perks of Being a WallflowerWhen I first read the Perks of Being A Wallflower, I feel in love with Patrick and I feel like Ezra Miller playing Patrick in the film increased my love for this character so I feel like I would read a book about him although I know it will never happen.

Number 4: Minho from The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1)I love all the side characters in the Maze Runner series more than the main characters like Teresa and Thomas.  This said I feel like I would rather read a book about Newt and Minho than another about Thomas. Hopefully we will see more of them in The Fever Code but I have my doubts.

Number 3: Jackal from The Immortal Rules

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1)I love Jackal as a character as I feel like he keeps Allison in line and tells her when she is pining over Zeke in the entire series. Therefore I would love a prequel series with Jackal and would definitely like him to have his own book maybe how he became a vampire?

Number 2: Puck from The Iron King

The Iron King (The Iron Fey, #1)Another Julie Kagawa series in my list. This was the first series by her that I read and I fell in love with Puck as a character. He was the one who added the humour to the series and was just a fun character. I would happily read a whole book about him.

Number 1: Simon Lewis from The Mortal Instruments series

Welcome to Shadowhunter Academy (Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy, #1)It is fair to say that Simon Lewis is my favourite character in the Mortal Instruments series, he is funny and has his nerdy side in which he loves anime. This one however is slightly cheating as their is the Shadowhunters Academy series coming out about Simon and I am so excited. Cassandra Clare must have had the same thoughts as I do. As you can see by the whole list I go with the guy with a wittiness about him over looks.

Honourable Mentions:

Nick and Charlie
-Nick and Charlie from Solitaire- this one is kind of cheating as they have their own novella anyway which came out last week but they were one of the things that I loved about Solitaire and I really loved there relationship.
Image result for tiny cooper-Tiny Cooper from Will Grayson, Will Grayson- again this one is also cheating as Tiny Cooper also has book of his musical out but he was one of my favourite elements of Will Grayson.
What side characters do you think deserve their own series? Leave them in the comments below.
See you soon,
Amy

My Reading Tastes Are Changing

For the last couple of years, I feel like this has become a reoccurring blog post but I want to talk about it now because I think something is actually happening in my reading life. My reading tastes are changing. I've felt it for a while. I haven't really been drawn to YA titles that much anymore especially contemporary. Being busy in my time, I have been really selective in the books that I pick up so for me: the shorter, the better. And when picking up shorter books, the less likely they are to be YA. The more I am exposed to more books, the more I get to read books that I connect to Some of the books that I have picked up have really surprised me because of how much I ended up enjoying them. I think as I grow older, I am looking for different stories, different experiences and different perspectives. These don't just fit the YA mould. I also have been really into different genres like horror and the occasional thriller which have not read from before and I'm interes

Book Review: The Great Godden by Meg Rossoff

   * I am reviewing this book which I was gifted for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own. * Title: The Great Godden  Author: Meg Rossoff Publisher: Bloomsbury  Source: NetGalley ( Bookshop UK |  Hive |  Goodreads  |  Storygraph ) Book Summary: Everyone talks about falling in love like it’s the most miraculous, life-changing thing in the world. Something happens, they say, and you know … That’s what happened when I met Kit Godden. I looked into his eyes and I knew. Only everyone else knew too. Everyone else felt exactly the same way. This is the story of one family, one dreamy summer – the summer when everything changes. In a holiday house by the sea, our watchful narrator sees everything, including many things they shouldn’t, as their brother and sisters, parents and older cousins fill hot days with wine and games and planning a wedding. Enter two brothers – irresistible, charming, languidly sexy Kit and surly, silent Hugo. Suddenly there’s

Popsugar Reading Challenge 2021 Wrap Up

Every year since 2015, I have had the Popsugar Reading Challenge to diversify my reading. Over the course of the last year, I would like to think that I have done this and looking at did a good job considering I have been so busy over the last year. Even though I did actually have a plan of a book to read for almost all of the prompts, I did just wing it for the latter half of the year. This was because I was just reading what I wanted to and because I was not really reading at all.  So let's see what I read this year... A book that’s published in 2021    Book I Want To Read: Gut Feelings by C. G. Moore Book I Actually Read: Gut Feelings by C.G. Moore An Afrofuturist book Book I Want To Read: The City We Became by N.
